A Small Program with a Deeply Personal Standard
Yorktown Yorkies is a private, boutique, family-centered Yorkshire Terrier breeding program near Jacksonville, Florida. Our dogs live with us, and our puppies are raised inside our home with daily observation, gentle handling, familiar household sounds, and individualized attention.
We intentionally remain small so each litter can receive the time and care it deserves. Families can follow puppy development through photographs, videos, education, and direct communication rather than feeling like one name in a large sales system.
For Families Who Value Quality Beyond the Photograph
Yorktown is intentionally structured as a premium, high-touch program rather than a volume or lowest-price placement option. Our best-fit families value the care that happens before homecoming: thoughtful planning, close observation, developmental preparation, transparent communication, complete records, a carefully prepared care pack, and support that continues after the puppy leaves our home.
Welcoming a Yorktown puppy is a meaningful emotional and financial commitment. We do not publish one blanket price because each puppy and litter may have different registration, development, and placement terms. Approved applicants receive the puppy-specific price and complete written reservation terms before making any payment.
Founded by Dr. Terri Widdick
Yorktown Yorkies was founded by Dr. Terri Widdick, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, pet advocate, and lifelong animal lover. Her professional background informs her disciplined approach to observation, documentation, education, and communication, while licensed veterinarians guide veterinary diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Terri also founded ProvenPet after experiencing how difficult it can be for buyers to verify an animal, seller, records, payment recipient, and handoff. That experience strengthened Yorktown's commitment to transparency and lifelong accountability.
How Yorktown Puppies Are Raised
Our approach includes thoughtful pairings, close newborn monitoring, age-appropriate early neurological stimulation and scent introduction, careful nutrition, a clean home environment, developmental enrichment, grooming preparation, socialization, veterinary partnership, and continued breeder support after homecoming.
Every puppy is an individual. Homecoming timing, registration, development, and placement details are explained for the specific puppy and litter. We do not guarantee exact adult size or promise that any dog will never face a health or behavior concern.
Serving Families in Florida and Beyond
Yorktown is located near Jacksonville and serves families throughout Northeast Florida, including St. Johns County, Ponte Vedra, St. Augustine, Orange Park, and surrounding communities. Approved families outside Florida may ask about personal delivery or an approved in-cabin flight nanny. Puppies are never placed in airline cargo.
The first step is to learn about our Yorkshire Terrier parents, review our frequently asked questions, and choose either the waitlist or the full puppy application.
